One of the best Workplace for Design in Shanghai in 2024.
Last week I visited what I believe is one of my favorite offices in Shanghai so far.
When I visited this office, I flipped.
A lot of companies think about the best design for their employees (and visiting customers), but rarely as in depths as M Moser Associates.
The Workplace as a Laboratory:
The whole concept is a laboratory, with a ton of data and metrics to observe people’s behaviors in the workplace.
In a lab you try things out: they are investing and changing their designs regularly to adapt to their own needs.
Never too attached to a concept.
When they realized that their super-cool “sauna-meditation” space was in a very busy side of the offce, the team realized they made a mistake. Bummer? Not really, they learn from it and they know that next time, the “peace corner” of the office needs to be placed more strategically.
I love it.
From a meditation room, to massage chairs, you also have cross-offices real-time videos and a whole concept of flooring depending on the area you’re walking in (common areas versus work areas.) Think: as you walk, you “feel” that you enter a new kind of work-space. 🤯
This place is quite unique, and I enjoyed being shown around, presented around and welcomed warmly by the team(s).
Our Grade:
I can never give a 10 to a workplace, but I’ll give this one a 9/10.
