In November 2025, we ran an intensive half-day leadership training with LFS, designed to make performance evaluations and feedback both meaningful and practical. With so much content, we let participants choose the models they were most interested in—because engagement starts with choice!

Walking in Their Shoes: Experiencing Feedback from the Employee’s Perspective

The training began with “In My Shoes”, an exercise that put leaders in their employees’ position. They explored the emotions, expectations, and hopes that come with receiving feedback. Understanding this perspective is the first step to making performance reviews meaningful.

Defining Success: Making Expectations Clear

Leaders were guided to articulate what success looks like in their roles. This clarity helps teams understand expectations and align around measurable outcomes, creating a shared language of success.

SMART Goals and Scorecards: Tools for Effective Management

Building on the success-defining exercise, leaders crafted SMART goals and reviewed KPIs and scorecards, equipping themselves with practical tools to guide team performance effectively.

B.A.R.S. in Action: From “Doing the Job” to Doing It Well

Participants chose the B.A.R.S. model over the 9-Box Grid. A video of a waiter failing to serve guests correctly highlighted the difference between simply completing tasks and truly excelling. Leaders then applied the model themselves, using AI to accelerate the process, and saw firsthand how defining “good” transforms performance.

Results and Feedback: Timing Matters

The session was met with outstanding feedback. Leaders appreciated the hands-on approach, practical tools, and timing—perfectly aligned with year-end reviews.
